Does anyone have the blinder twin laser jammer?
If so how good does it work?
please post some past experience... Thx!

Yes, I have the Blinder M10-twin laser jammer and it works, have not had a laser checked speeding ticket since I purchased it. Its either the jammer, or my slow ass, law abiding driving style that keeps me out of trouble.
There are other similar units out there such as the Escort w/ laser shifter (it uses similar technology) as well as the Lidatek laser jammer which uses an actual laser diode instead of LEDs like the escort and blinder systems.
Search for "laser jammer" using the search feature.

Hmm... what's laser diode?
they work so long as you get a good one, and get it set up properly.

something that emits laser I guess? heh. It uses an actual laser (just like the speedgun the cop is using) to jam the laser. Marketing tells us that is more effective than the LEDs.Originally posted by joejoe3

i wanted to get one, have the cops ever given you hassle over it, or do you always do the slow down turn off thing?

Well, what is does is it jam the cops laser gun, but without giving the cop's laser gun a jamming code. So the cop only thinks he missed your car. Eventually he will shoot again.
In between that time, ur jammer will notify u a laser pulse is detected. What u should do is slow down and turn it off, so the cop can get a reading.
You have any experience with the K40 laser jammer? I am thinking about getting a diode style system setup (they offer one) in both front and rear with radar/laser detection in seperate modules at the front and rear as well. Downside is that it costs a bunch of cash, but I think it looks like the best solution out there.

Well i don't really see a use for the rear laser detection.
Cops aim for your headlights or front licence plate (*something reflective in the front). They never aim at a tail as it's too late to pull the driver over. yet sometimes they aim at the side of your car (*although they get a cosine error) but can avoid your laser jammer and get a reading...
If u live in calgary, I can say 99% police upgrade to laser over radar now. Unless on highways, RCMP still uses radar.
Due to cosine error, the reading on the cops laser gun is acutally slower than what u are actually going...
I live in California, and I am worried about being lasered from the rear after the cops are unable to get a reading on the front. Since I have a large, flat vehicle, it might be best to have front & rear.

YOu slow down when it hits, but the blinder has a built in shut off, so after 5 seconds or so, it shuts itself off so the cop can get a reading.Originally posted by joejoe3

When cops set up big sting operation on speeders, they can hide behind bridges, and shoot u as you go by at the rear. and have a pull over team down the road. usually they just get ur front and flagg you over, but they do shoot the rear. I would just get the front tho, thats most important.Originally posted by joejoe3

Yes RCMP is mostly k band and about 35% ka band. But they do use laser, i'd say about 10% of the time. I drive hwys, everyday, so i have big experience with the rcmp.
Yea the blinder has the auto shut off option too. It's up to you to set it anyway.
Usually if it's just normal daily driving. Cops are paired up, one does the laser and the other does the pull over. Sometimes they may have a backup unit, but it's not that often.
Plus the laser guns can't shoot through glass, so they have to be in the open. Or maybe with a window rolled down, And plus they have to be stationed.
The old fashion way is pacing, but u can fight it off most of the time.
at least the old ones can't shoot thur glass, not sure if they make one that could yet...
Cops should go solve some real crime. Then again, reason they get funding to upgrade their gadgets it's cuz of speeders like us. Haha
"Crime doesnt pay" thats why their out there...The new laser within last few years can shoot thru glass, so in winter, they can sit in their nice toasty vehicles, and then pull u over, get ur liscence quickly, go back, sit in car for 30minutes warming up, give yuou ur ticket, and be on their way....
Pacing is coming back, one form that is big on its way is VASCAR, pacing is used alot on the higways from airplanes. Thats what those lines about 1/4mile apart are used for.
Joe get laser jammer, v1, and a police scanner, for hwy use, and you will be one more step ahead of em. Works for me.
from what i have heard they dont use pacing in alberta anymore because of the cost of running the planes.Originally posted by ryder_23

Yea i heard there's a rare method they use, they pull 2 black wires across the street, the time your wheel hits the first wire to the second wire will determine your speed. (*Back in your old school stuff v=d/t) Since these wires are really hard to see, most drivers fall into them... they only use it on roads w/out lots of cars though.
Abt the police scanner... I wasn't planning to go too hardcore into this... just the jammer and the v1 probably... when i saved up enough. Might as well spend on these since tickets will pile up to that range anyway.
Never used the K40 so not sure how effective that is.Originally posted by E36M3

The blinder M-10 twin doesn't have an auto shutoff, (the new version might) but I don't recall seeing that in the specs. It does however come with a switch you can easily reach when you want to disable the jamming.Originally posted by ryder_23

I read on the new version saying that it auto shuts off. Either way, just as easy to flip a switch.
Joe they dont use the black wires as an effective way to give tickets, because their inconsistent...if u turn while going over it, it will show a different speed. For speed measurements they use 4 of them, and their usually just doing tests to see if its worth it to park a cop their, or to raise/lower speed limit.
Yea the new version has an auto shut off option... i've read it in many forums.
My uncle got a ticket last week from it. Going edmonton to calgary.Originally posted by bigboom
