    Default Help Buying Snorkeling Equipment

    Hi all,

I'm going snorkeling and I've tried the $50 all in one packages from costco, but they only last one or two trips and the strap usually breaks. Are these "allergic" to salt water or UV?

Is anyone here an expert or know what is "good" snorkeling equipment?

I mean my black one window mask seemed to last years when I was a kid.

    Thanks for any advice.

Head to the " The Dive Shop" and take a look at the Mares line. I use Mares equipment for my dives and like them quite a bit. Excellent quality!

That's what I want to do. I've heard for a "good" personal package (fins/mask/snorkel) you should expect to pay close to $300.

One of these days I want to get my scuba ticket...thats my lifelong goal, me and my son..and do some diving in tropical waters....some day.......

I don't have many opportunities to hang out with my dad but when we do we usually book a week or two off and go for a diving holiday. It's a great way for us to hang out and something we both enjoy every year.

But yeah head over to the dive shop, obviously you pay a little more for quality but you know it wont fall apart after a few times.
