Default Nicest/most interesting place you've been?

Hubby and I are beginning to talk about a 1st anniversary trip somewhere, kind of a last hurrah before kids. We've thought about places like Greece, Italy, even New Zealand, but we're looking for suggestions. Where is the nicest and most interesting place(s) you've been to? Not really down for the 'lay on the beach and do nothing' type of places, we love to venture off and explore on our own.

So where have you loved to travel the most in your life?

    Machu Picchu in Peru.
I've been to a lot of places, but this is by far the coolest place I've been to.

Mauritius... it's supposed to heaven on earth, and culturally it is a crossroads, with British, French, African, Malay, Chinese and Indian culture all part of the fabric of society and culture.

Simultaneously both a very beautiful and very a interesting place.

    What are you looking for?

    Fun in the sun?
    History?
    Amazing sites?

China - Forbidden City is quite amazing but a lot of it is the same once you see some of it. Great Wall

Did Road to Athens with Contiki this past summer and it was a blast saw tons of stuff as well. Ended it with a few days in the Greek Isles. I would highly recommend it

^^ Just looking for a good adventure that we can do at our own pace. Nothing tropical with all inclusive deals or anything like that. We love learning history, we had a blast touring all over the UK for our honeymoon, and of couse, nice photo spots are a must

You should check out GAP Adventures, they offer a ton of different trips and you can browse by what type of trip you're looking for.
They have some pretty wicked ones.

Honestly Paris, France was amazing and there is sooooo much to see and do. It takes atleast a few days to check out the historic stuff and all the different attractions.

Greece is amazing but it's more of a relax on the beach and party type place depending on where you go in Greece of course.

Germany was tons of fun and lots to see, I'd still like to go back and spend more time in Germany!

Ohh well in that case scrath out Dubai hahah. If you're looking for adventure, maybe South America. Do the whole living in a tree house in the rain forest thing. Or maybe go on a safari in Africa, tons of fun and lots of pictures
