Where would i be able to purchase a 9006 HID conversion kit for my 2005 honda civic sedan? I want something that is a "plug and play" setup...upgrading my stock headlights so its as bright/visable as my E90. Lookin for a 8000K. Thanks

Won't happen dude. Your Civic's headlights will be dimmer than stock with the ghetto HIDs.Originally posted by MR2-3S-GTE

Your best bet is 9012 HIR bulbs, but those aren't available locally.

I know what you mean dude, but trust me on the HID kits. Buy HIR bulbs instead. http://www.rallylights.com/hella/9006.asp#9012

Yep. I've bought from them 3 times. Each time has been good. Not always rock bottom prices, but finding a reputable e-store for rare parts can be tough.Originally posted by FiveFreshFish

So how was the 9006 HID conversion kit you guys bought? dragonone and dooman24?
This is what HID kits look like:
This is what an OEM HID setup looks like:
hahaha...wow...thats a big difference...am guessin these HID conversion kits are more for looks than function...More so a combination of the HID bulbs and housing...not just the bulbs. Guess the best way to go is upgrading the 9006 bulbs...thanks
Well, another option you have is doing an HID retrofit where you somehow plop HID projectors into your current housings. But that's expensive and takes a long time.
Just get HIRs, you'll be happy with them.
where's a good place to get BULBS?
i need d2s ones
i asked autodream, but dude working the reception is hurting for info, and he says they dont' have any acura-knowledgeable staff
I gotta disagree with this one. At least, in my own experience. I've found that HID kits ARE brighter, but they do not give you nearly as uniform of a light as a regular halogen. So basically the middle is very bright, but the outside is hit-and-miss. I think part of my problem though is that I still have the stock metal piece which surrounds the bulb installed. But I'll say this: The lights with the HID kit are no doubt brighter in the "hotspot"anyway.

A hotspot directed 12 feet in front of the car is useless. Get outa here, gingerballs.
