Question Question on Road conditions in banff

Just curious cuz i am planning to head down to banff for 1 day and the roads in calgary and pretty bare. I checked the internet and it says the highway conditions are completely clear also.

I'm just not to sure how the roads are in Banff itself if there is or is not snow on the roads
is there anyone on the boards here that might know?

I currently have my summers on cuz the bare road is/was killing my winters and i'm wondering if i should just slap on my winters and take the trip to banff and back.

I was there just before new years, and it hasnt snowed since, and the roads were 100% snow free. You would've made it there no problem when I went.

The Trans Canada should be fine.

It's snowing here currently, and the roads in town have a lot of snow on them (the dirty fine stuff, as well as large "cliffs" where bare pavement meets 4-5" of packed ice which sucks for summer tires)

You should be ok, however even with no snow, the temps are far below your tires rating making them hard as hell and reducing traction.

They have plowed most of the parking lots though, but just drive with care.

Looks good except for the stretch from Lake Louise to Jasper.

yea 93 from Lake Louise to Jasper is in horrible condition. wasn't willing to take the car above 60 the whole way and I have winters on.
