Top Gear is unique because they feature cars from around the world which are available in UK. I wonder if the US Top gear will feature North American version cars only, or do they plan on shipping in cars on a weekly basis to get some variety.

The only way this could not suck is if they flew Clarkson, May and Hammond over for every episode. And given Clarksons comments on americans before, this would make it all the more hilarious.

I say GREAT. Bring on the N.A version. I wouldn't mind seeing a high-quality autoshow with personality and style that features North American spec domestic & import cars that are actually available to us.

I sure as hell won't miss Clarkson.

Clarkson, is what gives the show character. Because it's all done in the UK you get UK perspective on things. They're totally politically incorect, and they hate everything America. They're contradicting themselves by offering an American version of the show.
The last thing we need is to see Ryan Seacrest doing a review on an H3 while Regis Philman, and Barry Meguire argue that the explorer is better.

I gotta say, as Biased as Clarkson is - he's a charismatic guy. All of the hosts are enjoyable on that show since they have such great chemistry with one another.

If they can get some good hosts for the NA show i dont see it doing to bad, but A LOT rests on who the hosts are ... knowing the states they'll just recruit their token "fill in" guy, Drew Carey... he has a way of ruining everything

Terrible terrible idea.

We don't have anywhere near cool enough cars in NA to pull this kind of thing off. It'll be like "now we're on to drive our new Ford Mustang GT Convertible!"

They won't use a test track, it'll be a fucking Nascar oval. And they won't be able to have celebs come do the "put a star in a reasonably priced car" because all of our celebs are coked out and/or have no licenses from previous dui's.
