i dont mean lowered. i mean uprated suspension (coilovers etc.) and bigger brakes to cope with that extra power. drag racing is pointless if the car cant do anything else.

that is the whole purpose of nearly every muscle car in North America. Go fast in a straight line.

Mustang, Corvette, Firebird, Camaro, etc... not to say these cars can't handle, but they could handle better.

If it wasn't lowered how would you be able to tell there were any suspension mods? As far as you know that car could out handle a corvette Z06. Obviously these pics were taken at a show or racing event by someone who does not own the car, so taking the wheels off to show the awsome suspension it might have isn't realistic. And besides that, I see you are from england, drag racing is purely American and you will never be able to apreciate a car like this.

As for the 'muscle cars can't handle' comment, I suggest you do some research about road tests done back in that era and become better informed.

yada yada yada... let's argue over dumb stuff again!

Obviously, by posting it's DRAG results, it's built up as a drag car, not a roadcourse car.

If there were Laptimes posted, then you can complain about the car not having suspension, brakes or whatever.

There's more to life than roadcourses...

... and there's more to life than drag strips. Can't we all just get along??

i say there are no suspension modifications, because it doesnt say there are. it lists all the engine modifications but not one single handlings modifications. i suggest you get some common sense and then become better informed.

The ZO6 is one of the world's best handling cars in existence.

I like when people mod the OEM engine... not when someone "wants" more power and decides to throw in an engine from a Viper or something of the like. Don't get me wrong, I respect people who do that (it's nothing but hard work) -- but to me... when you modify the "factory" motor to put down some pretty kick-ass numbers... then bang... you've impressed me!

I never said the suspension wasn't modded.

Its quite the expensive venture to swap a turbo V6 into a new Caddy. I'm sure he would want to get that investment to show up in good 1/4 mile #s.

How can you say for sure that the suspension isn't modded?

I don't know if it is or isn't but if I had to venture a guess I would say it is.

i presumed it wasnt modded because all other modifications appeared to have been listed. if it turns out to be modded then i take back my comment. the stock suspension on the CTS is quite good, but nothing can beat a custom setup, whether you drag race or circuit race, or even just fast road use.

Maybe you should be better informed before you make comments like that.

i suppose being european and hating drag racing i DO occasionally jump to conclusions about american cars due to the wat way they USED to be. That said i do quite like cadillac's new direction, especially the XLR. The CTS-V should be good too.

It looks like a GN engine swap into the CTS?
