Default Canon Super Telephoto 1200mm Lens

Damn, son. The Canon Super Telephoto 1200mm f/5.6L EF USM Autofocus Lens ($99,000) is the King Kong of lenses. Measuring 33-inches long and weighing a hefty 36lbs, the rare lens was built-to-order by Canon from 1993 to 2005 — and only at a rate of about two a year. Even though this one is slightly used, it's still going to cost you about the same as two Land Rovers. And good luck trying to find a tripod that will hold up this beast.

It's funny how this lens has come up in conversation by some of my friends about 4 times in the last month. That tripod that they're using in the pic above is actually a pretty cheap Manfrotto video tripod....but would handle the weight of that setup no problem.

I remember seeing this article back when I was looking for an EF adapter for my XL2:

That works out to a 35mm equivalent of 17,280mm on a 1/3" sensor with the 2x extender.
