    Default Another bike insurance thread!

I don't know how many u guys are with Blue Circle but something weird happened there over the summer.
Apparently they split the company somehow.
I was clueless to this till I tried to get some renewal happening. Then I was told that as part of the split I am with another company(or the other company).
Anyhow I called those folks and I am not happy with what they quoted me. I wanted to make a couple cjhanges to the policy and they refuse to give just PLPD on an older cruiser!

So they suggested Jevco...which in the past I have found to be a little pricer than others.

So I am wondering whats all out there?
    Does Allstate offer bike insurance?

    Any others?

I've had my bikes insured with Statefarm for 20 years now, they always treat me really well. I think my last GSXR1000 cost me around $700/yr for everything. The only problem is they go by CC's (stupid I know) so if you're rollin an 1800cc+ cruiser they may be pretty expensive..

Ya Im with Statefarm as well, pay $1600 / yr on a 2007 HD (1700cc), till next year when i turn 25 then he said it should drop to about $400-600. Do they not realize that 1700cc on a 670lb bike is not THAT fast, and the fact that it was made for cruising not racing. I think there should be seperate rates for cruisers and sport bikes.

I'm with Primmum, I think its through TD bank, I pay $1200/yr for a 750cc. They have an online quote thing, that tells you exactly how much your gonna pay.

No problem, I gave your info to two others, one bought a 1900CC? or 1800CC cruiser, and is going to be calling you pretty soon, and one friend with a sport bike should be calling you next week

Ummmm decreased insurance rate would be nice for me

To be honest, if I could, I would. If it makes any difference, the commission we are paid on bike insurance is about half of a regular policy so really, I do the bike stuff as charity to the biking community. The average PLPD sportbike nets me about $8.

I go through TD Meloche Monnex. They've been my insurance company since I was a kid, but aparently you need to be an enginneer, doctor or Lawyer (etc) to be able to be insured by them. My dad is an engineer, thats how I got on.
But I'm extremely happy with them. VERY low rates, very flexible, and just a great company. Or try Lundren & Young Insurance. I had to go through them once, and their pretty damn good also.

I was having a heck of a time finding someone to insure my Duc. PC Financial, where my car is, won't touch it. State Farm wanted my car to insure the bike, which would mean an extra $600 premium. Primmum won't do any coverage above PLPD without an approved alarm system. Blue Circle was ridiculously expensive.

Then I found Dyck Insurance. I can get full coverage for about $750/year or $510/year without collision. No need for alarm or moving my car over.

my understanding is that almost no companies will touch super-sport bikes at all. Those companies that do, will charge you several thousands of dollars regardless of experience, etc.

You probably don't need comprehensive. Specified Perils is likely enough.

SP does not have vandalism, comp does.
