Button sticks on auto shifter? Help!
Anyone ever had a button stick on an automatic Sunfire?
It won't release park.
When u apply the brake you can feel some release but it wont fully engaged. It will do so if you keep at it but sometimes it's like 10 minutes of frustration.
Once park is disengaged the button functions normally thru the rest of the gears!
Anyone???

when it happens try to turn your steering wheel.
make sure when you park your fully stopped and with the foot still on the brake apply the hand brake all the way. than let go of the brake.

I think it's related to the brake pedal and a sensor for releasing shifter....it's a floor shifter. I don't think the steering wheel move will help.

u can always just use the e-brake instead

Use the e brake for what...it wont shift from park...

you should open up the shifter console, is probably really dirty all it needs is more lubrication clean it out and than lubricate the moving parts.
