My wife REALLY wants to see Star Trek in the theatre tonight (personally, I fucking hate theatre's), so which one downtown or in the south would be the quietest one to go to?
Eau Claire?

I see all my movies in the afternoon, so no help on the evening theatre selection. I can only add, make sure you give your IMAX seat the once over test, the last two times I was in an IMAX theatre in Calgary the seats were very compressed and with terrible support. Naturally these seats are to be found in the sweet spot as they are used the most. Personally, I might lean towards the newest theatre and hope it is raining a ton to keep people away.
We saw it last Thursday at 3:45pm at Empire Shawnessy and there was maybe 4 other people in the theatre with us.
Leave work early and every theatre is empty :P
I go to Eau Claire as it is almost always very quiet.
Yea, matinees are the only way I can enjoy a movie in the theatres these days. Kids are fucking loud at the movies now, they yell dumb punchlines during the movie and think they're a comedian. Pretty fucked up.

Matinees are also cheaper.
Didn't they consolidate Matinee and Evening prices into one, years ago?Originally posted by flipstah

I watched hangover 3 on the release date at Eau Claire at 7pm (probably the most busy time) but it was not busy at all! Theatre's size is a lot smaller though.

It's not that much more than a fully built Kaleidescape system and people have no problems paying 20-30K for those.Originally posted by ndhal417
