Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal.
Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Forces announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas.

Born and raised Calgarian here. Something that seems to become a minority now a days. Things here just seem to be about the 'ME' syndrom. Not about what is good for the future. In a lot of ways we parallel the thoughts and ideals of some southern US states and that is what I am talking about.
Do you believe that if the US didn't exist we would all be living in Igloos or mudhuts (depening on local climate obviously). There will always be somewhere to fill the void. With 7 or 8 billion people on this rock there will always be a job that needs doing and work to be done. It probably wouldn't look like it is today and yes the transition would be hard.
