Q/ Termination Slip

If you were to get fired and you ask your boss for a termination slip and he says that "There is no such thing." why the f$^& would he say that?

Unless he's paying you cash, there should be a pink slip for you to claim EI. On that slip, there's also a reason of termination.

I think you are referring to a ROE-record of employment.

This lists the day you started, how many hours you worked, reason for termination etc... yes they must give you one but I think they have a certain amount of time to provide it to you in. If you call EI they might know.

From what I've always heard, you can't get EI if you are fired. They have to give you your ROE though. It sounds like your employer is being a dick, but if you need EI, you might want to make a deal for him to write it down as a layoff

You can still get EI in some rare cases when you are fired from a job. Don' t lie to EI though, they have this wonderful thing called "anonymous tips" so anyone you piss off can can rat you out for cheating on EI!

Their number one source of info. to find cheaters is from people friends and ex's. The penalties are huge!
