I feel for ya man, I've had a long history of dental problems, and know what you're going thru where only percacet works. Honestly, the only suggestion I have is to smoke some weed. That's how I managed to go thru a whole weekend before seeing a dentist. The bonus is you can (and want to) eat after smoking. On percacet, I wanted to puke non stop and it sucked.

    Good luck.

Just take an antiinflammatory drug, tooth aches are caused by pressure on nerves caused by inflamation/infection.

    Chew on some ice.

haha ya chewing on ice makes it WAY worse. It works for about 5 mins, then the pain comes back at least 2x worse. You can keep chewing ice for hours, you won't be able to sleep tho!

The pain goes away pretty quick after the tooth is pulled, as the inflammed area goes back to normal within a few hours. You might have a bit of soreness, but it drops back down to managable pain very quickly after extraction.

Kinda curious why you're pulling the tooth and not getting a root canal and fixing it up?

I made the mistake of pulling 3 molars 15 yrs ago when they were hurtin' like a bitch. It makes chewing food a little different haha. If I had to do it again, I would've fixed it up properly (root canal + crown).

If you think you were in a lot of pain, I had 7 root canals done in 1 day. That was obscene haha.

I am getting one root canal this week, another one next week, all 4 wisdoms pulled on the 27th (bottom ones grew in sideways)

I am a little bit worried!!! Especially for the wisdom pulls!!

They tell me they will be giving me Ativan before the wisdom pulls. Not sure what that will do other than anxiety relief. Rather be put out but that is not an option right now.

BOT- I have about 5 or 6 blue pills (no viagra jokes needed) from when I landed on my head mountain biking. The doctor was ASIAN (no racial comments needed)

He told me. You see they are in the shape of a house, that means you stay home when you take them!

I imagine you will be taken care of by the time I get to them.

Get it all done at once, Arbour Lake Dental, go under. You take a few pills and next thing you know everything's done and you're at home in bed. It takes only a day to recover from that lol. Realistically, just one night's worth of pain. Eating real foods in 24 hours!

I'm not sure what dentist you guys are going to but I have had many root canals myself, (reason was fractured teeth over the years) and not one of my root canal procedures was painful, not even the slightest.

You might want to see a new dentist.

In fact whenever I am at the dentist my procedures are for the most part rather comfortable.

I use Dr. Kim Orth, located downtown.

He has all the wizzy equipment for making crowns right in his office, so when you go in for a root canal he can crown you at the same time.

Another guy I have used for root canal surgery is Dr. Kim Fuhrman, I've actually fallen asleep during his procedures.

A fractured root canal job is a LOT different than an infected root canal job .

If you're already in pain because it's infected, it's fucking killer when the "root" gets scraped out!

I have a tooth that broke almost in half. (top molar) It was the only filling I had as a kid. Even though the filling is exposed there is ZERO pain at all. ever. That is one root canal.

I am not really worried about the root canals themselves as I have been told they would be pretty easy and quick.

It's the sideways bottom wisdoms that concern me.

I will be asking a few more questions regarding the wisdom procedures. I would prefer to be put out, but the cost is more extensive with sedation.

The shitty thing is, is I have no coverage. No insurance etc. This is all going to be a few-5 grand!!!!!!!!

A fractured root can get infected as well. I had one that went absess, but the actual root canal procedure didn't hurt at all.

Maybe your dentist isn't freezing your properly?

Oh man I hate to scare you, but Ativan is weak! I took it everyday for a year so I'm pretty familiar with it. It will help calm any panic feelings you have, but it's not going to remotely make the procedure more pleasant. I was knocked out when I had mine taken out and it was definitely the right choice. Watch nurse inject chemical in your arm - suddenly hear voices but dont really understand them - finally open your eyes, and it's time to go home. Haha.

Rage - the reason I had it pulled is because half the tooth broke off and little pieces of it chipped here and there. There was no tooth left to put a crown on.

The tooth is pulled now. The dentist used so much force to pull it out. I thought he was going to rip my jaw off.

On the light side, the entire left side of my face is frozen
