Gonna be taking a few trips stateside on the bike this year.
Was wondering what's the simplest way to get US $?
I was thinking that when it's above par(as it goes up and down like crazy) I'd grab a couple hundred!
Any thoughts?

You could buy it from any bank
best bet would be your bank...you could also get T/C as the rate is usually a bit better on those than on cash
just open a us$ savings account?

For everything else there is Mastercard!
Screw cash. Just bring your Visa.
Agreed. Then you can transfer some money into it online whenever the rates look good.Originally posted by Thaco

The exchange rate differences on $200 are going to work out to be like $5 or $10 max, either way. Just do what is convenient when you need it IMO (probably bank or credit card). In the past 2 months, I don't think it has been more than 3 cents either way. When I needed a bunch of USD, the cheapest place was across from TD square downtown, I forget the name.
Mastercard charges 2.5% on every transaction. I think they actually might be involved ina lawsuit over it right now.Originally posted by Canmorite

If you want the absolute best, open a US account and get a US credit card.
TD has a US dollar Advantage card. However it is a 25 dollar annual fee.
Shitty. 2.5% is a lot.Originally posted by bspot
