Time to go street racing.
I read that this morning. That's pretty rough.
CPS will earn their money this summer...
are they gonna build a new one?
if so, where
YOUR ONLY IN CONTROL WHEN YOUR NOT IN CONTROL
No... there will be no new track
anyone who thinks there will be is in dreamville
isnt there one going to be middle of alberta or e-town.
Good thing my buddy i worked with gets discounts at a track in Kelowna.. nice drive and a goodtrack out there.
Castrol Raceway is only 2.5 hours north. And Stratotech is 3 hours north.
Calgary is a big city though with a lot of rich guys that will want to play with their toys. I bet there is a new track within 2 years. Maybe not the same owners. Likely some rich guy (like Zahir) that wants a place to play and then makes it available to the public.
That is how Edmonton ended up with Stratotech which is an amazing track. One guy here with enough money decided he wanted a nice track in Edmonton and just built it. When he was building it he said he didn't care if it never made money. Although he doesn't have that problem now.
it's all part of Bronco's secret plan to force everyone to use public transit. duh!
no track = no need for fast cars = less ppl driving and more ppl using public transit!
right?
besides, he needs some way for the city to earn some extra revenue to bribe developers to cut down on parking spaces downtown.

So stupid... I realize that there are tracks 2-3hrs away, but should one have problems with their car at the track or something I'd say the last thing i'd want to do is have to figure out how to get it home. With race city being so convenient it's much less of a worry.
And i do agree, we will probably end up with a track sooner or later thanks to some rich guy/group of rich guys in town.
Even though we do have a short summer season, it'd be great to see a really nicely done racing facility in town, especially now that there are so many rediculous cars such as enzos and such...
and not to mention the ferrari dealership coming...
talked to the gm of race city today and he says that most likely they will close the oval for this season as it costs the most money to maintain and run (yet brings in most attraction at the same time) but the drag-strip and the road course will still be kicking around till the end
yay for drag and road racing
gay for the drifters, auto x, etc...
Cant we make a petition or something to hurry and start building a new one?
^^ Might not be a bad idea especially if a copy gets sent to Zahir Rana and his group of gangbange...uhh...friends.

Im sure there are some rich guys playing poker smoking cigars who are already talking about making it happen
If not... fuck.
I'd love to see a race track at the new Balzac Megamall, it would be great because you could eat there, go race, do a bit of gambling and even stay the night in the hotel if you get wasted at horsetrack. It would just draw more people I think.
Just what I'd like to see
protest!
park your car on McLeod in front of city hall..
I like things with wheels.
B20EF you have a good point.
Spokane has a phenominal track. I'll be spending a lot of time down there. If not, bud park raceway up in Dedmonton is quite good too I've heard.
