    Default Here's the culprit

    Here's the victim

He's 1 1/2 years old. Still trying to house break him but we're finding that whatever we do it's not working. Any tips and tricks to get him to stop peeing on the damn carpet and going outside???

    it'll come in time
what i used to do is whenever i see my dog start to pee,
    i send her outside
you can also tell when tehy need to go.
they start to sniff around for places to pee/poo
hope that helps you identify whats about to happen!

training pads=bad news it might be a temporary fix, but trying to get a dog who is trained to go on them outside trained is 10X harder

You gotta be stern. I have a jack russel. One of the hardest dogs to train. In fact they are not even allowed in puppy classes because they are such hard work. My dog will do anything just by hand signals and with out me saying anything. You need to be stern and consistant.
When the dog pees in the house take him to the mess and put his face almost it it. Saying NO OUTSIDE. Make sure you say outside alot, when you take him out side and when he messes. After you give him trouble, bring him out side right away still saying OUTSIDE so he can try to connect the 2. Then when he comes in, put him in a kennel or something as punishment. It sucks to be mean to something you love but it will pay off.

Try to watch the show "At the end of my Leash"

Its a calgary based dog training show. Its on all the time.

He's so cute! but i can sympathize with your anxiety. Did you try taking him out every couple hours and stand by him until he pees? Then (its sounds lame) cheer and clap for him showing how happy you are that he peed! Its tedious for a while but makes your life so much easier after wards. Remember, don't play with them when you take them outside. Its business time not fun time. Give the dog treats afterwards too.

Kennel training is what we've been doing for a little while now but the last few days he actually took a shit in the kennel! I can understand if the kennel is big but its just big enough for him to stand and turn around. Pee pads have saved us a number of time from accidents but I'm trying to move him away from those so he'll hold it in and go outside. He's a good dog otherwise and being young he's still learning. Looks like I'm just gonna have to catch him in the act and take him outside. Thanks :S

Oh an anymore tips would be appreciated on training the little bugger. (excessive licking, responding right away, I've gotten him to understand 'sit' and 'come here' in punjabi but it's still a work in progress haha)

His names Shera btw, (pronounced Shay-Rah, Lion in punjabi)

pretty much gotta catch him in the act and show him right away where it is correct to pee, eventually he will get it.

You hit it right on the head....this works. It takes time, but eventually he will get the idea and it will all be worth it!

ok so back on topic.... make sure whenever you can take your dog outside and if he goes then give him a lot of praise and treats, if he goes inside make sure you catch him in the act if you catch him after he’s done his mess on the victim then there’s no point he has no idea what your scolding him about
