Default question : what "earbud" headphones to buy?

I'm looking for a good pair of earbuds... anyone recommend anything I've heard they make sets that can perform like larger headphones.

    Recommendations?

I've got some sennheiser's that I like. Good bass response and good overall sound. Paid around $80 from Memory Express.

Do you want In-Ear or just regular Earbuds? I personally do not like the In-Ear ones and have found the Sony Sports ones to the best. I tried the JBL ones but didn't like the fit or the sound.

Skull Candies are brutal for SQ.
I'm using a set of AKG's and Ultimate Ears Superfi 4vi and they are both superb. Before these I was using a set of Sennheiser CX300s, and these both sound much better imo.

Anything that Shure makes is top notch. It'll run you around $100 bucks for their entry level.

I have a pair of black E2C's, but they're discontinued now...

I have the vmoda vibes, apple sells them ($100-130?) but you can find them on ebay for much cheaper.

The SQ is wicked, but they're not made for heavy use. I find they fall out every couple minutes if I'm running or at the gym.

They have them on Futureshop's site so I guess order there and have it shipped.

That sucks to hear cause I was leaning towards V-Moda Vibes. I hear Bose falls out pretty easy too. I guess it's UE for me.

Sounds better than crappy iPod head phones? Check
    Drowns out outside noise? Check
    Stays firmly in place? Check

They work for me enough for $35 vs Sennheiser's CX300 ($103 on futureshop.ca right now). Don't think i'd ever spend over $40-$50 on headphones for a mp3 player... for my computer, hell yes, but no, not for just music on an mp3 player...

Yeah the cx300s are miles ahead of the Skull Candy ones. My roomate in Germany had a set of the SCs and they really weren't that bad.

I got my cx300s for $55 off Amazon, but that was a year ago so not sure what the price is now.

Anything is better than skullcandy. Search, there have already been 2 threads on this in the electronics section. You're not going to find a set of in-ear buds that sound the same as circumaural headphones due to the differences in design, but you can get ones with SQ that is just as high. Question is, how much do you want to spend?

Well, your not willing to spend more than $50 for a set of headphones, and I am. So I'm just giving the OP a better option than your crappy sounding skull candies if he's wise enough to spend a little more dough for better SQ.
