Default Power 2 the Pavement 2008

Just a heads up about Power 2 the Pavement 2008

This is a heads up street car race to be held June 21 at Medicine Hat Dragstrip. There will also be a Friday night fun night on the 20th. Cost is $30 per car, gates open at 11:00, racing starts at 1:00.

Cars are classed by performance adder based off of a 4 cylinder factory car on street tires. This provides classes for all types of cars from stock sunfires/civics up to pro-mod cars with license and insurance. These are the same classes run at the Lethbridge Street Wheelers 100' dash at Street Machine Weekend.

There is also a Bike class at P2P, all NHRA rules for bikes will be in effect.

All cars must have valid license plates and insurance to run. Helmets are required for all cars, and fire jackets for all cars with aftermarked power adders(turbo/supercharger/nitrous).

    Power adders:
    6 cylinder engine +1
8 cylinder or larger engine +2
    Turbo/Supercharger/nitrous +1 each
sticky tires +1 (all slicks/drag radials/anything will less than 150 tread wear rating or no treadwear rating)
    AWD +1
Alcohol as main fuel source +1
Wheel well modifications with no frame modifications +1
    (Includes widebody kits)
Wheel well modifications with frame modifications +2
(full tubs, fourlink ladder bars etc no wheel wells with +10.5 tires)

    Classes
    NEW STREET
No performance adders allowed (4 cylinder only, street tires, no performance adders)
    TRUE STREET
    1 performance adder allowed
    REAL STREET
    2 performance adders allowed
    QUICK STREET
    3 performance adders allowed
    SUPER STREET
    4 performance adders allowed
    PRO STREET
    Unlimited performance adders allowed

Hope to see lots of people out for a full day of heads up racing, and a good time.

    5 more days...

    More for shits and giggles,

But there are trophies for the winners.

Last year we lost money on the event, if we start coming out ahead, money could be in the future.

Quick question. I need a fire jacket if i have a turbocharger?? Aftermarket or stock?

I have a Volvo turbo that is stock minus a boost controller... I was kinda confused by the rules...

If the car came with the turbo stock, then you don't need one.

Any driver of a car with an aftermarket power adder(nitrous, Turbo, Supercharger) needs a fire jacket at all NHRA tracks.

Any one needing a fire jacket are responsible for getting their own. Best Buy had them for 79 dollars when I got mine. The track does not supply fire jackets or helmets, all racers are responsible for supplying the required safety equipment.
