im curious as well.. I can see it being terrible mainly because of Jackie Chan who really is only good in Rush Hour films.

It was pretty decent. Not the best movie ive seen , but it was good for a snow day. It had a nice lil fight scene with Jackie Chan and Jet Li... It had its funny parts with some lame jokes that made you chuckle. It also had some Crouching Tiger hidden dragon type stuff.
3.5/5

I dont think the movie will suck or anything, but I am very dissapointed that after all these years Jackie Chan and Jet Li have decided to do a movie together, but its not going to be a more serious traditional Chinese Kunf-Fu film.
lol i dunno what to say... it looks awkward
The white kid achieved everybody's dream(to learn Kung Fu in a matter of days). The White boy makes the movie.
It was ok...like Jaymez said, it was a good snow day movie. It had its funny moments.
Everything I'm not made me everything I am...
I thought the fight scenes were well coreographed. They have the traditional kung fu flying around stuff, but the wirework was amazing. It was a really fun to watch movie overall.

No fool! - best line lol
Wasn't great. Good. Not bad.
It was a pretty decent movie. The monkey god suprised me LOL. I remember reading those books when I was like 5
not too bad
was entertaining to say the least
couple of funny scenes too
ok...ill watch it today. i hope i will enjoy it
lol my friends and I laughed pretty hard at that line... pretty much the whole theater did actually. The fight scenes were good, but the plot couldn't be worse. The whole time travel plot sorta killed it. But it was sorta cool how they put in the monkey king. I used to love that series and the tv show.Originally posted by Kamen

uhh
worst movie of the year, right after the ruins.
wait people...think...
considering that the movie has the top 2 chinese martial arts actors, it wasnt great
the fights were very....fake.... (watch donnie yen's movies if you want something that makes u want to beat hte shit out of someone)
and the STORY...i found it rediculous, im not sure if they followed a "different" story line of how the monkey king was trapped for 500 years, maybe its a different version, but i didnt like how the white kid goes back in time, blahblah blah and everyone in china knew english at that time...
then he learns crazy skills in couple of days, then at the end he wakes up where he started...so predicable
AND THEN....the white kid and the asian chick....im so suprised
overall, they ruined the movie because of a couple factors:
1) wasted the potentials of these 2 stars
2) bad story line
3) white geeky kid gets asian cutie
4) expected ending...
1. There both old as fkucOriginally posted by Shift_Perform

2. It's the Monkey Kind dawg...
3. This happens in real life
4. How else is it supposed to end?
On another note...
I think Jackie Chan and Jet Li in the next Fast and the Furious would be sweet sauce.

It's the type of movie where you would take your little kids to watch with. It's not a bad movie at all even though it was somewhat predictable. A few funny scenes here and there, fight scenes were entertaining as well. Although I wish it wasn't like watching dragonball Z and more of actual fighting but I can live with that.
I'll give this movie a 7/10. Worth watching if in the movie theatres. Go to studio 16 and get the student combo for 9.99 and you will get a pop corn and drink with your movie.
is this movie loosely related to Journey To The West?
It was much better than I expected it to be. Again, we get the Great White Hope story (see Karate Kid 2, The Last Samurai, etc) but what do you expect? It's Hollywood. Of course, that fucking kid is gonna be white or else they never would have made this movie. Since Jackie and Jet are both in the twilight of their gung-fu movie making careers, this is the best vehicle for them; a traditional, Chinese fairy tale story. A family-friendly, PG rated, CGI infused movie with a touch of wire-fu.
My ideal team-up for them would have been a cop-action type movie- made in the early to mid-90s, when they were in their primes. Like a Police Story: Supercop crossed with My Father is a Hero. But for two old guys, The Forbidden Kingdom was alright. (Jackie is 54 now and Jet is turning 45 next week).
I wanted their first movie together to be Drangon Ball Z
I though the movie was good, it wasnt the greatest thing, cute asians, awesome martial arts, it was rated PG so i wasnt expecting too much violence. Jackie plays an awesome drunk
White boy was kinda outta place, was sorta expecting a deeper story, maybe a more epic journey to their goal, but it was good at the end of the day.
Is Dragon Ball Z still in the works anyone know??...going off topic but whatev
