    UPDATE

What a long weekend. Spent all of saturday installing it. The setup wasn't too bad, just fitting everything in and re-locating half the stuff was the real time waster. Took it for a drive, what a difference! I finally have torque! The videos don't do it justice, the sound of the blower is really sexy!

Had some idling issues, engine light came on because of a faulty intake air-temp sensor. I was worried that I was having some vacuum leaks so I spent all of sunday taking the supercharger-manifold-intake assembly off and resealing all the gaskets. Now I don't have any idling issues.

This is the first step in many! (once the wallets fills up again) Keep in mind that i'm still running the stock exhaust, stock ecu (no mapping has been done).

Now i'm trying to figure out how my lower compression ratio is affective my boost (PSI). Almost everyone with this kit keeps the stock 10.5:1 compression ration, while i lowered mine to 8.5:1. Will this make me have less boost because more air is needed to fill each cylinder so the blower can't build up as much?

How did you lower yor compression (headgaskets?)
If your car is running a lower comp., you should be able to run slightly more boost safetly (pretty general)

When I rebuilt my head I put a thicker metal headgasket from VAC and some high-performance springs.

People are telling me that my lower than expected PSI is because of my lower compression. Seems to make sense.

Your PSI might be lower, but air volume is still the same since it is a positive displacement compressor.

Where did you order this kit from, if I may ask?

I got it from Understeer.com. Chris over there has an awesome rep and I've ordered alot of parts from him. He also answers his phone 24/7 if you need any help during installation.

its a 5 speed.. and the kit weights very little, about the same as the original intake manifold that was removed.

It probably weighs about the same as that Windshield tint you added Scat

Jokes aside, great build, are you getting it dynoed anytime soon?

Some of us believe in only driving gains. No sun in my eyes means I can see shit...

    Awesome work.

Once you the complete intake, exhaust and modify your ecu, should help a little. Do you notice a big difference?

they have these things called sunglasses, you put them on when the sun is out and it dims the light entering your eyes. you can even take them off at night when the sun goes down.

The E36 computer has some adaptability built in. It can adjust itself to the new boost well enough that the car will run without any problems. To really get the full deal, though, it'll need a tune.

so u put a s/c on your 318 so u can keep up with stock 328is', magical. Which u still wont cause u lack the tq.
    What yr is it?
AA stg 1 roots s/c on a 99' M3 cant beat a slightly modded 325is on spray, i suggest if u want power go a different route then s/c..........i guess good on ya for tring to make power, but i dont get the direction.........big power 4 bangers are all turbo.......all of them......color me negative I guess; good luck on your build.

You don't put a s/c in a 318 to keep up with a 328, you put it in for more power. Keeping up with a 328 is just a side effect. Not everybody enjoys turbo lag or hitting up the bottle of juice for temp power.
Great job with the s/c man. I was thinking about it but I just read up that the kit is discontinued.
