out of 6 dmen the playing 3 were rookies and 2 were playing in their first NHL game... not to mention we only have 10 forwards, because of cap issues.

I will be the first to say that game was shitty and a poor performance but playing back to back with that roster I didn't expect a win.

Typical Flames. Kick ass during the regular season, get to the top of the standings, and then tank during the end of the season and be eliminated 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs. Rinse, repeat.

actually I think this may be good, I rather them loose now and have everyone expect them to loose then they pick it up, when flames was expected to win in the last few years they usually loose comes playoff.

maybe being the underdog is a good thing

The Oilers are pretty much out of the playoff race. The max number of points they could get now, if they were to play like Detroit and San Jose combined, is 89. Nashville now has 86, with their win over Columbus with 3 games remaining. But for tonight, they've got this illusion that they still aren't completely out of the race yet. So they'll make themselves useful, play with desperation, and beat the Canucks. Then probably by Tuesday, the rest of the teams clinch playoff spots, and they're gone.

Vancouver, realistically, is going to win against Colorado tomorrow. Yes, its back-to-back, but they're coming HOME for the second game, and its against the worst team in the conference. Hell, it'd be nice if they lost, but...they're not going to. Tuesday, they'll lose to us. After that...LA, they MIGHT lose if the Kings want to play spoiler, and the last game, again, its against the Avs, they'll win.

So if we want the division, we have to win all 5 remaining games. Not a tall order when you think about it..Vancouver is the tough one. Quick poll- anyone think we should start C-Mac on Monday against LA? Home crowd...he wants his first win...keeps Kipper rested for Vancouver...

And as I'm typing, I just checked the score again. 2-0 EDMONTON!!!

Aucoin is skating apparently...I actually hope he doesn't come back...I'd rather have Phaneuf, Regehr, Sarich, Vandermeer, Leopold and either Pardy or Pelech (well, pending a few more games like his first)...Gio in for Vandermeer if he gets healthy.

So with Vancouver's loss tonight... if Calgary wins our next two games against LA and Van, we win the division.

If that happens we can rest Kipper for the last two games of the season and HOPEFULLY get McE a win before the season ends!

Yeah, the one against VAN has to be in regulation though...but we'll do it! I thought we might start C-Mac tomorrow against LA, but the game day article on the Flames site says otherwise, talking about Kipper's success against the Kings. This is one back-to-back that we're going to win!!

I say just go for broke and play Kipper against L.A. and Vancouver and play MacE whatever happens. At the end of the day, this team is gonna be judged on what they do in the playoffs and a division banner just won't cut it. Home ice advantage would be nice but a well rested Kipper would be even better.

c-mac blows. let him play out the home and home with edmonton if we can clinch the division, but i honestly don't see him getting his first win...even against edmonton.
