    Default Chemo-therapy.....

    Hey.
I was just curious if any of you know anything about chemo-therapy sessions, and what the after affects of a session are...

Are the patients suppose to be sick (vommiting) for 2-3 days after a session?..
my story is TOOOO long to tell.. so I am just looking for some help on the side effects of chemo-therpy..

    Thanks.

    Josh.

I had a friend who went through it about 4 years ago. She lost all her hair and was physically and mentally drained. Couldn't imagine what it would of been like except excruciating pain. We were best friends and I feel terrible for not really being there for her.

Did she use to throw up for a couple days after each chemo session tho?? Or do you know?

I can shed some insight for you...i enduded the after effect of chemo with one of the parents of my best friends...when she went for her chemo, for about a day or so after she felt totally on top of the world (the steriods in the chemo do that) however, as soon as that wore off, she got VERY sick...throwing up and sleeping alot...and I do mean ALOT. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. I'm so sorry to hear that you need to ask this question. I hope that you and those you care about are in good health...it is incredibly hard to watch a loved one go through it...good luck to you

My little bro had cancer; he was sick a lot after the chemo - it really depends on how strong a dosage they are giving the person... if you're really worried though, just talk to the Oncologist about it next time you see him/her.
I hope whoever is going through this gets better soon.

Vomitting can occur due to chemo. Headaches, stomach aches, and muscle pains can also occur. Of course it's different for everyone, but vomitting is one of the most frequent results of chemo.

As was said, it totally depends on the dose. And even with super high doses some people don't get really sick. Everyone is different. Also as was said, if you have concerns, don't be afraid to talk to the oncologist. They'll do their best to answer your questions and put your fears to rest. The canadian cancer society has an excellent web page set up that answer some of your questions probably.
