I need tips on fishing the bow. I've been going from the old railway bridge in Canmore and along highway 1, trying a few places but I've had no luck, just lost spinners and spoons
On the upside though the high alpine lakes have been great lately

You might want to try Fly Fishing. You will find with a little practise you will become a much more successful fisherman. On the Bow you might to try a little more downstream. I have always had good luck at the Carnmoney Golf Course. There is public access to the river from their parking lot. The river is a little slower there and there are some VERY large trout in that area.
Godd Luck
usally good right under bearspaw dam
I don't think the bow is the best place to learn fly fishing, but I'm definitly trying it next year. I'm sure I'll have more luck in late september when the whitefish are here in swarms
