Arrow BigDog: The Most Advanced Quadruped Robot on Earth

    BigDog
The Most Advanced Quadruped Robot on Earth

BigDog is the alpha male of the Boston Dynamics family of robots. It is a quadruped robot that walks, runs, and climbs on rough terrain and carries heavy loads. BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. BigDog's legs are articulated like an animal’s, and have compliant elements that absorb shock and recycle energy from one step to the next. BigDog is the size of a large dog or small mule, measuring 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75 kg weight.
This thing is amazing but it's very eerie. Haven't these guys ever seen Terminator 2?.

That's a creepy robot. But man - it does handle terrain with ease!

At first I thought it was two skinny guys facing each other for the legs. Guess not.

Why does it have to make that buzzing sound.... It clearly doesn't need it in one part of the video

Judging from what I saw from the video, it looked like it was running on motor while it was outside doing their testings while when they were indoors, the thing was plugged it with the wires on top of it.

I saw this on tech TV a few weeks ago and was really creeped out when I saw it.. we're definitely getting closer and closer into the "Terminator" days.

I guess the machines are taking over!
Especially when we can't even knock them down!

It looked wounded on the ice.. ha.. But there is no way it could sneak up on me in the woods. With my superior bo staff skills I would come out on top.
