    Default Anyone here do painting?

Hey... I have a hood that's in really rough shape, paint wise.

Body shops are asking me like $400-$600 to re do it...
Anyone here able to hook a brutha up, with a better deal? Maybe even in many many beers? Or even, fine, imported beers? Haha

Pm me, if you know anyone, or are anyone who can help!

A friend of mine does reasonably priced paint work, his e-mail is [email protected], fire off those pictures to him and he'll probably be able to give you a quote.

Buy a palm sander at canadian tire for 30 bux, few sheets or sand paper and a case of beer. Go at it, get it smooth and then all it will need is paint if you do all the prep. Will cut those quotes in half or more.

weirdly enough, maaco wasnt the cheapest. the place i got insurance work done was... but they screwed up my trim, and interior door panel (they're fixing it, tho) so... i dont want them to do it.

i'd do it, but it would look like an epileptic under a strobe light did it. i'll totally email those guys you guys said.

    thanks, guys.

could be like my 87 325e.... someone couldnt get the emblem off, and let the owner know how mad they were...

    hahahahahaha.

Oh man... the beat down that would ensue if I found someone doing that to my car... god.

I have done my own paint work, and a bumper turned out really well. But I don't think I would try this one on my own. You could probably put down a base colour could you not? Then all a painter would have to do is a clear. (Which has always been the most difficult part for me...)

I wouldn't start out on a hood trying to spray the colour. It's too large a surface to begin on and get right.

i've done my bumper (real quick, before the snow, and the winter ripped some off, but i figured it would)

i'm mostly terrified of the clear. clear sounds so hard.
