Cards can be bought at shoppers, they open pretty early and the one at chinook is 24 hours. Good luck finding a decent brunch without having prior reservations though. We made brunch reservations at the zoo 3 weeks ago and the only time they could give us is 2 pm.
My suggestion: Wait till 10:30 when the mall opens and head to Merle Norman. You can get her a g/c for a massage and/or a manicure, pedicure, waxing, lots of girly things that moms never get a chance to do. Decently priced as well.
