Default RSX Premium or Type S?

I planning on getting a RSX soon. I was looking at the specs for the premum model and the type S. The max torque difference was only 1 lbs. - ft.

    Premium 141 @ 400rpm and Type S 142 @ 6000rpm

I was just wondering what everyone's opinion is on if it's worth spending the 3000 extra for the 1 pound of torque, or should I save 3000 for after market mods for speed and looks?

Does the 6 speed, bigger brakes, bar and sespension make that much difference?

Still it is refreshing to see people actually looking at torque and not just peak horsepower.

It is worth the extra money
Bolt ons on a Type S and it will fly into the 14's
Test drive proves everything, go find out for yourself!

It depends what your buying it for. If it's a day to day driver that will rarely see the track then get the premium, the torque in the premium is really more suited for day to day driving. Where as if your looking for a car that wants to do well on the track and you plan to mod the crap out of it get the s.

Rsx-s is the way to go.

Driven both and if I was to buy one it would for sure be the Type S.

    Totally worth the extra money.

Not for me....I couldnt afford the insurance on the Type S..they quoted me anywhere from 8200 a yr. to 11000 a year for full coverage with no accident and no speeding tickets....I had to go with the base and I still pay 5000 a yr.

    Yep....
.. Just for kicks I handed some kid his ass in one of those cars the other day with my GMC savana.. He was doing his best mario andretti/john force imitation in traffic, so I knocked him down a knotch or two with 7000 lbs of work truck.... I think he was a little suprised by how slow his car was, he settled down after the "loss"..Maxt

that's sucks. are you really young? I had no accidents but 3 tickets and the cooperators (one of the more expensive companies) qouted me 6300 a year for the S.
