Lol you know how rare and expensive '93 cobra's are? They had the GT40 Head package. They are even more rare than a mint SVO Turbo.

If you want to be totally different, look up a '96 Mystic Cobra. The paint job on those were one of a kind.

The older fox body LX's are a hell of a lot lighter than the newer models as well. Our LX is tipping the scales at just over 3k lbs with driver (that's for a coupe, not hatch).
Drag racing is for fast cars. Solo 2 is for fast drivers.

    Couple foxes here in Calgary....

The 7's (left lane) one forget about - it's worth more than your house,

the 9's (right lane) one is a budget build.

The most you can realistically get out of the GT 2v motor is about 350-375hp MAX. There are a lot of cars in calgary that ran the 400+hp but every one that I know has gotten no more than 1 - 2 years out of them before they blow up.

There is a '03 GT in Edmonton that is stupid fast (faster than a lot of Cobras) but he too is now running on a built motor b/c his old one grenaded.

The 5.0L is cheap to build and you can get it into the 12's pretty easily. Twin turbo kits seem to work really well on them as well as superchargers. Parts are cheap and you can build one for 500hp without breaking the bank.

The Cobra is definately the king especially with the Kenne Bell kit on it.... mmmmmm..... IMO it sounds waaay better than a cheezy turbo blow off valve and for a few grand you up to 650hp (at the tires).

    lag... lag... revlimiter....

    kenne bell s/c
Really? My onld turbo stang didn't seem to have any issues with lag.

Oh, here it is even racing a pullied Cobra.

    Brendon.

First suggestion: get on performance-shop.com and ask the pros there.

Second suggestion: Get a GT around the 02 year and supercharge it. My personal suggestion would be a whipple or kennebell.

Third suggestion: Why V8? You can do a Ford 2.3 Turbo and put it into a fox.

Fourth suggestion: Keep your eyes on people selling their already done up Mustangs for cheap. Much like Toma said there are cheap project cars to be had.

There is a guy on Performance-shop selling his Turbo Stang for dirt cheap.

    See here.

It's true. You really have to pay to play with the new mustangs. But it's definitely worth it to me

Brad, your car really doesn't count. you had a ton of $$$ in it and realistically Toma's budget build was still faster. May not have looked or handled as well but if we are talking about CHEAP speed your car doesn't count.

Toma, okay vs. Vince's car (you probably spend the same amount on your entire car as he spent on his valve covers).

    Make this guy an offer.
I'd be really carefull with that one. any of the Modular blocks with a forced induction has huge potential for problems. There are a few guys on p-shop that take good care of their cars and have a really conservative tune (6 or 7 psi) but other than that I would run -- unless of course you plan on putting in a built motor.

Oh, yeah, but that is a personal thing.... Brad just likes to have the best of the best.... his car handled, stopped, and went fast straight, and looked killer.

These guys make stellar crate engines at a great price. Awesome reputation too. I was about to get my SBC 383 through them
