It's actually called the Centurion Card...
I'd post a picture of mine, but in a sort of ironic mirror universe kind of way, even the most expensive camera I can find locally is actually not valuable enough for me to buy with the card and the transaction will be declined.
You really have to be buying a lear jet or a small country for it to work.

I have millionaires and billionaires coming through my office all the time putting large amounts on their credit cards. I have yet to see a black amex... Most people with money are smart enough not to piss it away on outrageous signup fees.

The black card is more of a status symbol than anything, the benefits really aren't worth the 2500 a year unless you travel a lot.

its mostly a status symbol but it has some pretty good benefits. used to be invite only, but now if you spend 250k/yr and have good credit, you can call them up and ask for one. otherwise you have to be a celebrity or get their attention somehow. but showing it at most airlines and high-end hotels gets you an instant upgrade, which can be worth like $500/night, so it's not hard to make up for the fees.
