Default Help Importing a car from USA into Canada more than 15 years old?

I've been reading lots of information about importing a car into canada from states that is LESS than 15 years old, but what if its MORE than 15 years old? what do I have to do then?? I've been able to find very little information on that.

    thanks!

Actually no, RIV doesn't do anything for cars over 15 years old, it's transport canada/customs you need to deal with. Same rules apply as with importing a car from japan over 15 years old.

If the vehicle is over 15 years, the only difference is that you do not have to comply federally. You will still have to comply provincially and pay all the fees necessary at customs minus the RIV fee. Once you get the vehicle here, you go to the registry, get a request for inspection (depending on the VIN you may be required to bring the vehicle to the registry for VIN verification), go to a mechanic that does the out of province inspection, get your insurance and register it.
