RIP to all the deceased...waiting to hear what exactly happened..

also not making light of the situation...but re: the one-year old that was left alive...hopefully she isn't mentally scarred by this incident and is too young to remember...kinda reminded me of the show Dexter where a young child witnessed his parents murders & became a serial killer...

condolences goes out to the families/friends of the victims

Ms. Lall worked as an occupational therapist for a seniors community program,

They said the woman living downstairs was a writer and she was separated from her husband.

    brutal brutal brutal

It must have been an accident (gas leak?) or murder suicide because the police said no investigation at this time.

Pretty tough to see a police officer cry - must have been some scary shit.

You're not the only one. The globe and mail thinks it's in "Calgary, Toronto".

CALGARY, TORONTO — A placid suburban street in Calgary was the site of a gruesome “domestic homicide” Wednesday, a scene where five people were discovered dead, including two young children, bringing even veteran police officers to the verge of tears.

Damn, they showed on the news the one guy who was friends with the girl who lived in the basement....I don't have kids nor I am ever around any so I couldn't identify with what the Police was saying during the press conference but I'd be pretty shook up if one of my friends was murdered like that....

I agree I got the chills when I saw the news conference and the Inspector they interviewed had to compose himself about three times.

I really don't think it's an accidental death though. Something like carbon monoxide poisoning would probably not be detailed as "the worst crime scene" by senior officers.

No matter how you put it it's a pretty sad story.

No carbon monoxide/gas leaks folks, it wasn't an accidental death and that's all I can really say. The media has about all that can be released without waiting on results from the medical examiners' investigations.

A female renter, believed to be in her 30s, was also killed. Several friends identified the tenant as Amber Bowerman, who worked in the publishing industry.

The radio this morning has been reporting that it was a murder/suicide. They just haven't said who was the one of the 5 (or rather one of the 3 adults) who went ballistic and then killed themselves. I'm sure more details are pending though.

Sorry to hear of your co-worker princess
