Default WTB: 3.23 LSD for E36

Want to buy a 3.15 or 3.36 Limited Slip Diff for an E36. Looking for 4 bolt input flange.

99% of them do not have the 4 bolt, I tried too

Check www.bimmerforums.com. There are a few guys that have them listed on there. I found my 3.15 with 30k miles for $500 shipped.

Amazing there is such an underdeveloped BMW used parts market in Canada....I buy most of my parts from US internet vendors.

There are a few good OE gear sites (autopartsway.ca) but few performance sites. I've found a few good vendors willing to bend the shipping rules a little to cash in on this canuck dollar.

    Default 3.15 enough kick?

Does the 3.15 give you the acceleration your looking for or would you rather the 3.36?

I don't know yet It's being installed as I type this. I've had the 3.23 recommended as the ideal diff, though.

    Hey Darren,

It's tough to let it go because it's an unfinished project....I got a garage full of parts for it and decided to finish the car and enjoy for a few years. I got an M3 Brake upgrade kit, Koni's, H&R springs, turner swaybars, UUC camber plates, all new bushings, M3 cams, M50 mani, UUC corsa exhaust..... what the hell I might even sell my Triumph TR6 and buy a Twinscrew hahaha....

Wow lots of goodies! haha. definitely get the stainless steel brake lines and clutch line (removal of Clutch delay valve). turner sway bars should be set full front, soft rear on our cars.

Where r u going to install your M3 cams? I wanan get some as well. but the software is pricey. $700 for cam specific sharked software.

M50 was a great mod but only at the mid to top end. bottom end suffered a bit of torque loss but im sure software and some other mods will bring the tq back up.

the 3.38 is the hardest to find and the most expensive because its a high demand differential. you could save ur self a few bucks with the 3.23 though. but personally, i dont think the 3.15 will be worth it considering the installation, shipping costs etc...

I'm going with the 3.15 LSD because it's dirt cheap, $450 shipped and I'm installing it myself and since I might end up with a high powered engine in this car don't want gears that are too short.
I have front and rear bars and front and rear camber correction so should be able to stay on spec with camber after the drop. Going to get some quotes on cam install from around town. I'll do the M50 mani swap myself though....
