i think its a great phone, it has lots of features, and with a unlimited web browsing plan its just awesome
there are many mods you can put on to make things cool
one which is my fav is the opera browser, which makes it so much easier
depends what your looking to do with it, but it will do good
got my thumbs up
but hey, i might just be another '08
Made by audiovox... if you trust that company buy the phone. Head some bad stories, but hey... it's your phone in the end. Wont matter what we say about it.
Beyond's Most Wanted

I hated it.
Texting and even dialing was horrible (slow response rate and dropping letters/numbers) and I had to reset the phone probably every three days as it would become frozen
Cos...
Well mine would be on the telus network? does that make any difference
i heard something about the cdma networks being faster....

HTC = taiwan based company.
The Diamond looks interesting...
the GUI is what is taking your indents on the touch screen and interacting them with the phone, not the network. You are not even connected to the network when you are typing in a phone number.Originally posted by Clark-Kent

That is why if you watch a phone when your calling it will say 'connecting' or 'connected' and you can dial a number on the phone even though your out of signal range.
so to answer your question, no it wont matter what company you are on unless they actually have different hardware

There is a GPS bulit in you just need to reflash with a different version software and build to get it working runs off tomtom software.
The Touch is crap...

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
I played with the HTC Touch when it first came out when I was deciding between the Pearl and the Touch. Not a bad looking phone but I didn't like the set up. A friend of mine who works at a Telus dealership had it for a little while when it first came out and while he liked the flashiness of it for the first little while he hated using it as a phone or even texting on it.
Usually when texting he had to pull out the stylus to get the proper keys because using his fingers on the on screen keyboard didn't work.
Stick with the Pearl.
I'd advise against it, I'd take the Pearl everytime, I had a Touch and using it was like getting kicked in the nuts all the time, I really like the Pearl and just how the OS on it works, I find it very user friendly, the main issue the Pearl has is if it drops below 5MB of free space on the phone its known to drop random info on it, thats what happens with the Telus version, dunno if the Bell or Rogers ones have the same issue, RIM is working on fixing it though.
the touch is amazing, sooo customizable, its fast, lots of ram. I have mine working with GPS and google maps, evdo rev a. speeds as well.
the touch keyboard is easy to get used to, I came from a hardware keyboard.
and its NOT made by audiovox, what a load of crap that is. htc is the leading smartphone maker in the world.
