Sauna Question

We had a sauna in our old house and still have the heater, anyone know how much these are worth or if they still use these types? It looks like this:

Can you throw water on it?

Ya they still are in use and if the element is in good shape its probably worth a few coin, youd have to contact a dealer to see what a new one is worth.

I guess you guys werent into the whole sauna thing?

Not really, and no use for it anymore anyways.

Is there a way to check if still works or get it tested?

My recollection the heaters are hard-wired directly into a 220v line, which makes it difficult to test, unless you wanted to start playing with 220v and plugs.

Im not an electrician or anything, but I wonder if there is a simple resistance test you can do..... certainly a continuity test would be a simpe start.
