Okay, maybe they could, especially if there was one after me.
Brace yourself guys, especially if you know me, because the story I am about to tell you and the images of a 120 pound blonde girl doing these things may cause tears due to laughter and an overwhelming urge to shake your head in pity at my silliness. I call this story: "No one said a pregnant woman was rational"
So I was home from work today for two reasons. One was because there wasn't much for me to do there today and the other was because I have been suffering with a brutal headache for two days and no matter what I do, it won't go away. It ended up working out for the best, we had a concrete crew stop by to pour our driveway and I was home to open the garage and make their job a little easier.
Anyways, after they left, I went for a non-restful nap and got up to eat something at about 4:30. I was laying on the couch in my PJ's eating a bowl of cherries and at around 5:30, I could see a man at my door. (Our front door has a clear glass window that you can see out of clearly) From the bit I could see of this guy, I didn't recognize him and he was standing there for a while fiddling with my lock. I got nervous and jumped off the couch (you can clearly see the couch I was on from the door) and ducked into my kitchen where I could watch him by peeking around the fridge. After about 2 mins of him standing there, I saw the lock on the deadbolt turn and I knew he was about to open the door. I became terrified that some strange guy had picked the lock to my house and was about to break in. I launched into action and ran full speed at my door. He opened it but was looking the other way, out into the street, and it was open about 3 inches by the time I got there. Well I hurled my whole body weight into the door and it slammed closed really hard and really fast. The guy turned around with a terrified look on his face and I realized that it was my brother! I had just suspected my brother of being an axe murderer or something and had scared him half to death by slamming the door on him! Haha he was wearing work clothes and sun glasses with undone hair (he usually looks half decent when he's not at work so that's why I didn't recognize him) and although he has a room here, we don't see him all that often. He told me later that I looked really mad lol, not scared. I distinctly remember feeling just scared though, lol.
So, after I unlocked the door again and let him in, explained why I was crazy and finished shaking from all the adrenaline (not to mention trying to calm the panic sh!t fit my child was going through in my stomach from the same adrenaline surge) we had a pretty good laugh over it and my brother proceeded to call everyone he knew to tell them he had almost been killed by his hysterical pregnant sister. Hubby was proud when we told him, so I must have done something right! But yeah, NO ONE said pregnant women were rational, so remember that guys! lol.
