In New Brighton, the community assoication fee is about $270.

Lake Chaparal is a few hundred as well. But like has been said at least we get a lake, Lake Chaparal is pretty sweet though, basketball nets, tennis courts, beach volleyball court, couple waterfalls, the lake, nice beach, paddleboats, canoes, dingys, kayaks, 2 or 3 parks for kids. Definitely worth the price. Seems like your not getting lots for your money.

If you do a city land title search, it will show Panorama Hills Community as a lien on the property. They do not have to apply for it. It is there as soon as you register the property. It is not intended to sell your property if you dont pay, but basically, if you try and sell the house, it will show that your bank and the Association are both interest holding liens against the property.

Every community that has HOA fees like this, its on your title as their caveat....

you'll have to pay if/when you sell.

Coming soon. I believe you've heard this already but yes it's gonna be somewhat close to Mckenzie and New Brighton RA.

I used to work at Carma developers.

Shouldn't our taxes pay for all those expenses?

I was actually of the Panorama Hills fee when I read this topic lol. But reading some of the replies I guess Panorama Hills is better than some other areas, still not much to offer at the Community Centre though.
They should give like a free cardel pass for a month to the people who paid.

Just be happy Calgary Property Taxes are as low as they are. Even with $270 added to your property taxes, they are likely WAY less than most other major cities in Canada.

Property taxes in Winnipeg are 60-70% more than Calgary....

Lol... well, that IS a perk... but we also have a water park with beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, and a big playground for kids.

If you don't pay a lien goes against your property taxes and you will be forced to pay it (along with interest) when you try and sell your house.

Not to mention that it will go on your credit rating.

Every community with community based services has those kind of fees.

I am out in Auburn Bay and pay $400/year but have access to the private lake.

    Are you kidding me?
Hamptons has one of the best outdoor ice arenas in Calgary. Even has a zamboni.

    Hmmm.

I haven't been hit with any community fees in Bridlewood.

I'm sure that will change eventually.
