    Question Mars Beside Moon?

I heard that today at 12:30am mars will be right beside the moon. It hapens every 5727 years or something like that. Hopefully this storm will clear up.

Not to sure anyone else know about this?

I hear you can still see it for a couple of days (Apparenlty the Science Center, you can go and use their equipment and view it.. That runs for one month)....

You can go to the Calgary Science Center and have free viewings from 11:30pm-1am up until this Sunday. After that, it's every Fri and Sat for like the next 4 weeks. There's a lecture an hour and a half before the free viewings for like $5. I'll be heading down there myself with my sister tomorrow night

And yeah, tonight's gonna be the closest Mars will be in almost 60,000 years. You could actually go outside and see Mar's in the sky without the aid of any telescope around 12am-2'ish for the past week. It'd be the brightest object in the sky towards the south/southeastern direction. Yesterday was really obvious, because it was the only thing visible through the cloudy sky.

On Sunday, I looked at the moon and it looked neon pink. I think that might've been from a combination of the smoke and the light from Mars.

I'm going to see if I can bust out the telescope and take some pictures. I have this huge telescope at home thats as big as I am that you can see the rings of saturn with.

100% smoke....the light from mars will have zero effect on what the moon looks like. Not only is there far too little light actually coming from mars to make a difference, but mars is behind the moon, so any light coming from mars will reflect off the back of the moon.
