The title says it....Top 25 Lemon Cars. Information was compiled by US federal government and released. However, it doesn't apply to models that have changed since 2001. Ford Escape was top on the list! No Mercedes made the list.

If this list was revised for after 2001, the Honda Civic would have a higher number.

You wouldn't believe how many warranty jobs we get for the front struts going (after one year), and paint peeling on the grille.

Mercedes must have dodged it because most of their models have been recently revised.. my benz has the quality of an american car so far.

JD Power and Associates shows Mercedes reliability to now be below average (the mean reliability of all manufacturers) and my experience has definitely confirmed this.

I see a Jeep is way up there..I had a mad lemon of a Jeep. Engine mounts rusted away after 5 years..

ahah your tellin me. my jeep was all fucked up. i restored it back to new and she found a way to fuck herself up. ahhaah damn jeeps. i bet the subarus complaints were there bad paint jobs.

What I meant when I said that was that I was in shock that Mercedes didn't make the list. I would've thought that with the C240, and C230 that those cars would've been up there. But like E36M3 said the list is for cars up to 2001 so not enough data was compiled.

Why would they be embarassed to share the truth? That's one of the main topics of discussion on the Benz forums.

I think it may have something to do with the fact that MB didnt sell nearly as many cars as honda or ford did. It would mean the list is fundimentally flawed though.

Hmm..."based on" doesn't sound too definitive to me . I'm also wondering about the legitimacy of the complaints (ie, genuine complaints vs. dumb people who don't know better and think something is wrong). You could have a bunch of people complaining that their SUV is loud and eats too much gas compared to a car and bring it in for warranty (believe me, I've seen it happen).
