Do you have to take and pass a lot test through a training company before going for the road test?

Or can a person skip the lot test and book a road test with a verifier, say CAA, and get their class 6 like that?

Yes you can skip the lot test completely and book your road test through someone like AMA or another testing company. Providing you have your Test permit which you have to write before going for any test lot or road. However I think if your brand new rider/Driver with out any license at all. I think there are different requirements. I do recommend going and doing the safety course as well though.
