    Default Lotus Eagle Pics/Details

i LOVE lotus... and in a way this car is stepping outside of traditional lotus design phylosophy.

it will feature a Toyota V-6 with 276 HP and 250 lb/ft tq.

the car will have interior LED lighting... cup holders... back seats and leather!

it looks good... but im still totally not sure what to make of it... time will tell.

most of the other details are speculative but given lotus history it will be light and handle nicely

I don't know, something about it just seems "off". Perhaps the hoot should be a bit shorter?

I'm seeing a bit of Ferrari and Porsche in there.

Front feels a slight bit too long but it's actually still a great looking car.

Very good looking car, interested to see what the pricing is going to be.

Clean design, very modern, I like it. Wouldn't be my first choice though at that price.

Wow.... it would have to weigh the same as the exige (not likely)

I'd love to get into something like this.

Too big, the whole point of a lotus is light & small. The front end hangs over the front wheel too much.
    In reference to Rob Anders:

Waiting on the curb weight until I pass judgement.

A car like this does not need rear seats or cup holders. They should not replace a light car like the Elise/Exige with a heavier one with more power. Provided they stick to Colin Chapman's philosophy of adding simplicity and lightness, I will be a fan. Otherwise, it will just be another 2+2 3000+ lb car.

    it isnt replacing the Elise.

its going to compliment it. they are also comming out with a much larger Esprit replacement and another probably much smaller elise replacement.

the Eagle will fall in-between them. keep an eye on lotus in the next few years... lots comming from them.

i do agree though it is stepping away from traditional Lotus Phylosophy so i dont knowwhat to make of this car... time will tell.

Is every car going to have a Toyota motor in it though?

Definitely nothing wrong with the motors but I would think most people in this market would want something a little more exotic and unique under the hood.

I do think the car looks really good although that front bumper is going to see a lot of damage going into driveways and parking lots.
