    Default short throw?

Where can I buy a short throw shift kit for a 91 Accord? And how much do they generally run?

    Thanks,
    91Accord

make your own i did for my 86' jetta , find it and copy the design just extend it to make your throw shorter, it cost me all of 5$ and asking my cousin to use some of the tools at his work

Friend was telling me you can take out the shifter, chop it to a desired length and redie the tip (if needed) and you're good to go.

That what you're talking about, black94gt?

I heard its not too hard. Fun thing is see your car in pieces all over the garage floor and someone walks in and "WTF??"

Do a search for installing a short shifter and you should be fine.

making the shifter shorter has nothing to do with shortening your throw....

That's true. Comparing the short throw and a regular shifter, you can see the bottom half of the rod is longer. Giving a better leverage range. Hence a short throw.

But to some degree, cutting a stock rod will give simular results.

there is more to a short shifter then just that... it SHORTens the throw itself. good for civs and tegs i herd, worthless in ludes.. have not herd anything about the accords.. kinda a waste of $$$ IMO get something more useful liek a stress bar for that $$$

my hurst short thow costs $270. i good shifter makes a huge difference and its the distance inbetween the the actual spots for the gears not the length of the stem.

There is no actual short shifter for the accords/prelude there is a short shift adaptor that makes shifts more accurate but thats about it

Madmax has a really sweet short throw shifter in his 200SX. The actual shaft seems to be the same length as stock, but the actual throw is like, half of what it was.
