Why should SuperGeo have to alter his driving style to accommodate someone's desire to break the law?

great video of a biker can be found in this thread:

Which is why a smart rider is not doubling the speed limit, swerving in and out of traffic and expecting everyone to get out of their way or not to cut them off
Like I said before, next time.. I hope he tries to prove the point to a loaded semi, instead of a bike.Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

This is pretty moronic. It's illegal for people to jaywalk and just jump in front of your car but you're just gonna plow through them?Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

Anyone who says someone who rides/drives fast deserves to die is sick and a great example of how our society is turning to shit.

That's some fucked up shit. The guy is speeding, so you think its cool to enact some vigilante justice and potentially cause a fatal accident? What if there was a car tail gating the motorcycle. Did you factor that into his reaction time? What if there was an emergency and that's why he was speeding?Originally posted by Super_Geo
I had a biker pull up to me at a light and give me shit yesterday cause I switched lanes and "cut him off."
He was also going 100+ on a 50 zone on Memorial (right by the 10th street bridge in Kensington). I wanted to switch lanes, saw that it was open, then noticed how fast the bike was going, but you know fuck it... I'm not going to change my shit cause some fucker wants to go more than double the limit in a residential area. He had to slam on the brakes, but wasn't really close to hitting me... he probably had a good 3-4 seconds to react and slow down.
The funniest thing is, he came up and said: "Watch where you're going and learn the fucking rules of the road!"
The fucking rules of the road! LOL from a guy going more than twice the speed limit... some fucking people!
If I ever see you in person you have an ass kicking coming. Fair warning.
the lane was open and he wanted to change lanes. it's hard to judge how far away the bike is when it's doing 2x the speed limit...
Who said he was doing 2x the speed limit? The same guy that said "fuck it, you know?" and willfully cut the bike off on purpose to prove a point? Sounds credible.Originally posted by gpomp

Wow you really must have your panties in a bunch don't you? Who's more prone to cause an accident, this little incident, or sometime going 2x the speed limit. Next time you try to judge that, think of someone going 70+km in a playground zone with your kids potentially in danger.Originally posted by CUG

When did he say it was cool? To be honest it seems like the biker was the one "acting" cool, and holy shit dude please e-thug some more.

i can answer that. it's cuz the biker doing 70 in the playground zone is more "alert" than the soccer mom going 30.Originally posted by Atriux

In what way would it be different for the rider, if the driver thought he was doing the speed limit and changed lanes accordingly? I didn't say he deserves to die, I say he deserves whatever consequences come of his riding style. If doing 2X the speed limit in traffic gets him killed, so be it. That goes for any driver, car or bike.Originally posted by retro-steve

Can't argue with that logic. Personal responsibility is at the heart of this whole thing.
