It's mostly sad to see that after decades of activists working hard to make North Americans aware of child-slave labour and working to get the major companies to stop using them, another country is just stepping in to fill the void.
I feel that a lot of companies outsourcing to China are still indirectly responsible.
It seems the corporations feel moral now that there is a middleman (China) and they choose to ignore where these factories source the raw material from.
That being said, I don't think this will ever end as long as there is money to be made by minimizing costs.
Kids need work too. For some of these kids, it's either work in a mine, or a sweatshop, or somewhere else unpleasant, or die of hunger. It's not like they could just quit at the mines and then go home and play xbox while eating ice cream.
For sure. It's just nice to make people aware of this stuff that takes place around the world.Originally posted by ExtraSlow

If you're a consumer, you are guilty of it.
Do you feel a lot of guilt over this?Originally posted by Xtrema

If you want to help without being in direct line of fire, just live like hippies.
Ah, just wanted to clarify. You are correct.Originally posted by Xtrema

And although the guy is a joke stealing hack I'll quote him anyways (Carlos Mencia):
You stupid hippies always talk about fighting the big corporations, but the first thing you do when you get stoned is call Dominos for pizza. Then you go to Blockbuster to rent movies, which you play on your DVD player from Sony. If you want to stop big corporations, the first thing you should do is go kill yourself.
Greta so happy about this.

Haven't seen that done in a while.
Just goes to show that you can't hide anything on the internet. If China wants to run power cables off Tsangpo dam, they are going to need more copper.
