My a/c stinks!!!

So I've been reading up this afternoon and apparently the a/c system and vents can get a little mouldy if your not careful at blowing warm air prior to turning the car off.... well apparently I'm not carefull cause as soon as I start the car up it fucking stinks of dirty ass socks.

Now what?

Anyone have any experience getting the dealer to clean the shit? Or an a/c shop?

Don't know if it works but with a little research this product seems to always come up when it comes to A/C stench.

Take your socks off the dash

Replace your EP3 cabin air filter, also check your drain hole for the AC system to make sure its open.

Then lysol.

Try changing the cabin air filter like revelations said. I think they are $12 a piece from the dealership, well that's what they told me the last time I talked to them.

Mine smells the odd time as well, but usually only right when I turn the ac off, for 30seconds maybe.. I just jacked the car up and there seems to be steady air/water drops coming out of the drain.. And my cabin filter is fine, since I make those myself. It was also a fresh recharge 2 or 3 yrs ago..

Filter was just replaced a month ago or so.... i pulled them out to check and they're still fresh.

Good call!!! I just bought the JDM unit... its coming overnight from Japan.

But untill it arrives my car smells like "fresh linens" haha.... sprayed the intake vents and then ran the a/c, fan, and heater with all the windows down for a good 15 minutes. Guess we'll see what happens.

Your dealership should carry these stuff. I know mine does but I'm all the way in Surrey, BC.

That little bottle goes for around $15 and you spray it on your vents either outside where it sucks air in or the inside.

Leave your car on full blast (Not A/C), when you're finished with the bottle, leave the car off for an hour or two to completely remove the smell and gunk.

Also, after using this. I recommend using a/c up until 5-10mins on arrival of your destination and switch to blowing air, that will prevent that nasty mouldy smell.

I get the same thing, if I leave the vent on right after turning the a/c off
