Spotted Dk Grey Lancer - McLeod Tr 1am

Saw a dark grey lancer on McLeod Trail last night. about 1am. Numbers on the window indicated he'd been at Race City.

Bunch of us were piled into one car. We weren't stopped but we tried to shout at him asking what he ran - I am pretty sure he said 14.5. Then we asked what was under the hood (turbo?) and his replay was "nothing!"

The car was pretty quick, hard to tell because of traffic and our overloaded back seat, but it seemed fast to me. But I didn't think a Lancer could even get close to that fast without forced induction? And driving behind him I couldn't hear a turbo or supercharger.

Anyone know this guy or know how you can make a non-turbo Lancer run 14.5? :/

Or did I just mis-hear him? Thats what I get for shouting out windows.

If its a stock lancer, besides evo, no way it ran 14.5 in calgary...

he did run 14.5, but there is no way that ting was stock!!!

IMO, theres no way its guna be stock, but a buncha bolt ons would maybe giv him 14.5 1/4 mile time.

not likely, lancer ralliarts run like mid 15s stock, so probably 16ish in calgary. he's prolly got some sort of FI set up or maybe some juice?

, didnt they run 15 flat stock, thas wut i heard, but i guess i was wrong...anyway, yea bolt ons wont shave off 2 seconds now that i think bout it...when i first got my s14 i told my bro i was guna get a buncha bolt ons and break into 14's. but once i learned a thing or 2 i realised how unrealistic that is, and i guess that slipped my mind wen i was writing my previous post.

Anyone know what was done to that Lancer? He said it was stock, but according to Motortrend, they ran a 15.0 at sea level...and said he ran a 14.5

Thank god he's on the bottle, cause I was starting to wonder if I should sell my car and buy a Lancer. I am 99% sure it wasn't turbo or supercharger.

However, he was burning up and down McLeod, isn't that expensive on Nitrous? And is it good to use it so frequently?

We all know Race City times are usually a bit slow, due to altitude here etc. If he can do 14.5 here that means its damned fast.

If he is on Nos he can have more than one shot. Its recomended you use nitrous for no more than 15 seconds with a fully opened throttle. The average 10 lb bottle lasts about 7-10 passes on a quarter mile run. It also depends on how conservative the driver is.
