I need to find a place to get the tires changed on my R6. The set on the bike now are really bald and I've got another set with about 80% tread so I want to get them changed.
Does anyone know a cheap but good place in Calgary.
Pm me if you do.

GW Cycle or Blackfoot mount and balance for around $45/tire
I dont know what they charge but TJ's Cycle can do it and its normally same day service. Could be worth checking out
I've got a machine in my garage--
$20 a wheel if you bring 'em loose
$40 front on the bike
$50 rear on the bike
You provide the tires---

my name's Josh
And yes, I'm a mechanic by trade, I'm the Parts/Accessories/Sales Manager at a shop in the city---I just don't work on Ducati's at home 'cause that would be a conflict of interest.
Also, most shops in the city won't even mount used tires...
Thanks guys, I will check them all out.
Endo I will probably end up giving you a call because a buddy of mine told Blackfoot and GW are booking into september right now.
And the they will be on the bike so I'll bring it by your place.
Thanks
Ha I was just gonna say PM endo.

Thanks SJW--JSingh gimme a call tonight after about 7pm and we'll set up a time. Monday evening would work best for me.
Theres no way they are booked untill sept for a tire change. Maybe for scheduled maintenance, but this time of year things start to slow down.Originally posted by JSingh

Go in during the week at lunch time, and drop the tires off and they will have them done that day
Sorry endo, didn't see ur post until now. I'll give you a shout when I grab the tires from my friends garage.
Thanks again.
No worries man. If I don't/can't answer, just leave a message, I'll call ya back asap.
sat is tires and oilchanges only at blackfoot its first come first serve they do 19 oilchanges or tire changes a day so if u get there early in the morning u can have new tires on ur bike in 45 min or so
Sure do, and all you have to ask yourself is "what kind of quality work am I getting when they pound out 19 bikes in 8 hours?"
Just a thought.
Not to mention the cost...BF is about $130 front/back for tires.
Thanks for everyone's input but I will just take it to Endo as soon as I get my front tire...still waiting to pick it up.
is this a guaranteed no scratch machine, an old motorcycle machine or more like tire spoons?Originally posted by endo

No Mar Tire Changer---if I didn't stand behind my work 100%, I wouldn't offer it. I bought it brand new a few months ago, have done about 15 sets of tires and not a scratch. Granted, in my career I've only ever scratched one rim, on an old Coats 220, and it was my own rim.
I've also done carbon fiber, carbon/magnesium, and lots of forged aluminum (Carrozeria, Marchesini, etc)
Endo who paints rims in town? I buggered one up the other nite.

Alberta Wheel Repair is the best, but wait till winter, they've been taking a long time lately...
Bowcycle only charged me $27.00 for back tire today!
Sometimes you have to take a chance, whether that be on someone, or something!
I wouldnt trust a $500.00 spoon type tire changer on magnesium or anything high end... the rims alone are worth more than the changer!Originally posted by endo
