I saw this while driving by. At first glance firefighters hose's barely do anything to the flames up until that white stuff they put on it. Does anyone know what it is?

    That's really unfortunate,

    It's called foam lol.

Ya, they closed off country hills. I parked in Arbour Lake and crossed the street where the 7-11 is.

The neighbor's house, pretty much top floor done. The house that got struck is completely destroyed.

Wow that is crazy. That is very unfortunate for the families. Hope everyone made it out safe.

I think though it is time the city rethink the limiting distance of homes in developments. It always seems one fire leads to two to three more homes being burned. The materials used are also not the best when homes are so close to one another.

I understand developers won't make as much money becuase they cannot put up as many homes but it may save a few more families from being homeless.

Why not just use foam from the start? When I was watching there were only 2 or 3 hoses blowing water and they don't even make a dent in the fire. They looked like dinky water guns

They really need to stop building houses so close. This reminds me of the house that went up in flames in Royal Oak and the 2 houses on either side caught on fire as well. Hope everyone is ok!

They won't stop building houses so close for a long time. Even Rock Lake Estates in Rocky Ridge (houses here are over 1.2 mil easy) are built just as close.

I remember as a kid all the houses and barns around where I grew up had lightning rods, odd they aren't more common.

Also wouldn't it make sense to throw one of those hoses on the 2nd house to keep it from growing while they work on the first? I'm no fire man, but if they fight the first one for 10minutes while the other goes unattended, things may be a tad bit worse.

I think i saw you guys behind me turning out of arbour lake heading towards citadel too, nose hill was pretty backed up, i didn't really notice it till after i turned into citadel, but horrible luck for both homeowners, jeez what are the odds of lighting striking your house

To let everyone know that no one got hurt in the fire and it is possible that fire was cause by something else and they are investigating as we speak .I live five houses down and was glad that it wasn't my house when i got home from work.
