Thanks!
Thanks!
Looking forward to getting this colored soon, got it lined October 2015 by Bradley of Atomic Zombie at the Calgary International Tattoo Fest.
My Kraken from my leg/foot evolved into a water god.
As some of you know I made a post a few months ago talking about setting up an appointment with James Jacobs. So I finally got my piece done. I have got to say James is great as i remembered him from my first tattoo 8 years or so ago. I only had an idea in mind and gave him rough clues and he came up with an excellent portrayal of that and I couldn't be happier.
As it stands, only a bottom half inch is visible when wearing a half sleeve t-shirt. I may extend it a few months down the line to reach the elbow area as I always wanted a half sleeve but I have no idea with what yet. Each piece, line and design has significant to me and represents something for me which is what I like the most about it. The redness of course is cause it was fresh. It's all gone now.
PS: Bob we chatted about you, I mentioned how you speak very highly of him on here. Haha.

Got this lined middle of October by Andrew Graham at Honor Bound. At first I was thinking, meh. I hope it looks better once it's full color... but then had my second session and am very stoked. I think it's going to be amazing. lighthouse / kraken octopus thingy

Then got some color started beginning of November. Very excited for the finished product but still have lots of sessions to go. The half submerged in water effect is looking great
I had an appointment with Melissa today at Honor Bound, but she's sick!
Here's to hoping there's a wekend slot.

Looks great man!
James is rad guy, and an insane artist. He is always a blast to be around. You definitely picked a solid tattooer!

Shak, thats sick, love the ek onkar in there.
Damn, so debating to get a tattoo but just thinking about the design that I would want is mind boggling.
Thanks bro. The meaning and significance is the hardest part for me as well. I didn't want to just get something for the sake of it looking cool. This has significant meaning to me, in that, pretty much every single piece in there is supposed to represent something.Originally posted by nismodrifter

Honestly, if you can come up with what you would like as far as the meaning and what you'd like to represent is concerned, a good artist should be able to come up with something nice. That's what happened to me. I knew what I wanted to have but had no idea what I wanted it to look like. James Jacobs worked with what I had in mind and came up with the pretty much the entire design.
Will do. Simply just going to start a list of things that are most important to me and will discuss it with an artist.Originally posted by shakalaka

After the first 2 pieces I got, I stopped looking for significance in my tattoos, or I'd never get another one.

Fresh ink, so have to let it heal.
Thanks to Melissa and Honour Bound Tattoos! Did stellar work.
^^ What is that? Curious.
It's a watercolor of orchids. It's still dark because it's fresh but waiting for it to lighten up in a month.Originally posted by Disoblige

I also take shit photos.
Apologies for my ignorance and laziness to research the pages of this thread but I have one tattoo on my shoulder that I got in the early 90's from the Smiling Buddha and it's faded and I want to cover it up with a new one. Any recommendations and how long does it take to get booked in?
If it's urgent, you might have issues since it's the holidays but 2017 should be okay. For me, it took me 3 months for a booking. Then she got sick, so it became 6 months.
It's been over 20 years so no, not urgent. The part I hate is trying to figure out what to get seeing you have to live with it and my last one wasn't exactly a home run.Originally posted by flipstah

Now you have to share it. I'm sure we all have "that one".Originally posted by heavyD
