Got this done last month to go with my other arm (it's a bit further back in this thread)...went in for some minor touchups last night and I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out! Everyone says this but the pictures really don't do them justice.

I was going with the whole angel/devil kind of idea, one on each shoulder...in this case it's more angel/archangel.

just a question for you guys. would you let an apprentice tattoo you?

i'm planning to get a tattoo of my kids name on my lower forearm/wrist so i went to strange world tattoo in crowchild and one of the apprentice told me he can do it in two weeks if i dont want to wait for awhile because the 3 main artist are fully booked. its a small works. like 5 letter word on left arm and 7 letters on the right. he did show me some pictures of his work and he did a lot of lettering. should i go with him?

his name is JOHN from strange world tattoo, does anybody here know him?

    thanks.

Had my first tattoo done in July 2011. Turned out great except I want the lettering to be lots darker - so will get that redone. Inner right forearm placement.

From there I got addicted and wanted more!! which lead to booking 2 days at the 2011 Calgary tattoo festival in October. 15 hours of work in 2 days later I got a medevil knight (still lots of work left. I just couldn't handle anymore pain after those 2 days in a row.

Personally, I wouldn't let an apprentice touch anything complicated. If it's relatively basic it would likely be fine but, make sure his perspective and linework are good. Last thing you need is lettering with blown out lines, having to get things redone is a pain in the ass.

    alright
so i have this one booked for tomorrow and a few friends are telling me not to get it. others are saying it's sick and to go for it...what are your thoughts? (i did a mock up with a temporary tattoo, the real one will be about 80% smaller and positioned correctly haha)
it's pretty much meaning to be happy for what i have in life and appreciate everything i have been given and fortunate for and think positive...and to not dwell on what i wish i had/want/think negatively

for guys with full sleeves, have you guys worn full compression shirts and played hockey with gear on after getting your sleeves done?
i have a feeling its a dumb ass idea but i'd still like to be able to play some hockey while getting my ink done.

you would definitely want to take at least 7 to 10 days off after your ink. your skin will be healing during that time, and at the beginning is essentially an open sore. even with a compression shirt, those are porous, and bacteria from you or other players could get in there and cause a nasty infection, not to mention the rubbing and chafing that can damage your ink... if you can't budget 10 days off to let a permanent tattoo heal...

Need to go back to finish it off. Session ran long and had to end early because of another appointment.

Anyone know of an artist that specializes in water brush style tattoos?
Looking at profiles on some of the local shops websites, I can't really find any examples with brush strokes.

i wanted something in "water brush" a little while ago ended up abandoning the idea ..

closest i could find locally was Fink from Bushido. he had a pic of a water painted rooster in his portfolio.

he did a good job from the photo
